Before I became a Coral Springs Acupuncture Physician, my passion for medicine and healing was a by product of a lifetime in martial arts.

In 2004, one of my mentors, Dr. George Love, introduced me to Qi Gong, Acupuncture and Natural Medicine. For a while, it was just for my personal injuries. But it was fascinating and more importantly, it worked. I trained with him for years until I had a heath crisis of my own.

I started experiencing severe: hot flashes, chills, fatigue, depression, carpal tunnel, tendinitis, systemic joint pain and spasms.

After spending a year nearly crippled and going from doctors to specialists and surgeons, they all said my blood work was fine. I was made to feel like it was “all in my head”. They sent me home with pain killers, muscle relaxers and judgemental looks. I was even scheduled for carpal release surgery twice. This is the sad part because its how good people get trapped in the system and addiction begins.

I managed to escape all of that when a another mentor of mine, nutritional counselor Reid Eckert, assured me he could fix all my problems. After all I had been through, I didn’t believe him and had no faith. He put me on a regimen of specific vitamins and supplements, introduced me to a chiropractor and gave me some dietary advice.

Most of my symptoms were gone in 2 weeks. I was almost ready to call it quits, and this was a miracle.

I knew I had to change my lifestyle immediately. I couldn’t even imagine doing anything else. I felt I had been given a second chance and the responsibility to help save others from similar paths. I went back to school and got a Masters of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, Bachelors of Health Sciences and am currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree. I’ve also been a to China a few times to study at Shaolin Temple and a few major hospitals. I’ll be starting my PhD research at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine in 2019.

My Brother is also a Western Medicine Doctor, my Mother is an Occupational Therapist and my Father was an army medic. So it runs in the family.

Now I get to help hundreds of people every month and the majority of them get better. I understand sickness and pain and have the privilege to serve my community.

Our Coral Springs Acupuncture clinic treats everything from muscular-skeletal pain to internal medicine including; pain, digestion, fertility, sleep, hormones, headaches, obgyn, weight loss, mental, emotional issues and more. I’m blessed to be able to share my knowledge and nothing makes me happier than to see people feeling better.

CHALLENGES:

I think the biggest struggle for us is the fact that most insurance companies do not cover acupuncture. It’s a travesty that people spend so much money on a policy and can’t choose the provider of their choice. But they will pay enormous amounts of money for over prescribed drugs and surgeries which have side effects and can lead to medical errors. Sometimes they are successful, but many times the surgeries and drugs don’t work and the patients end up being much worse off from where they started.

PLEASE, call and write your congress people and insurance companies and demand access to services. You deserve the option, your parents and grandparents and friends deserve to try Coral Springs acupuncture.
